RICHTER IN RICHTER HALL

Tuesday, 3 November, 2015 - 11:44
Michalis Economou

An indeed special show is in store for the general public presented by the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra at Richer Hall at 7pm on 20 November, 2015. The first half of the concert is scheduled to be the second symphony by Johannes Brahms written in the picturesque and ambient setting of Lake Wörthersee, Austria, in the summer of 1877 whereas the second half proposes a performance of England’s premier romantic composer, Edward Elgar’s ever-popular Enigma Variations from 1896.

These two masterpieces are to be conducted by Greek-born Michalis Economou whose name may ring familiar to our loyal audience members as he has already conducted GYPO a number of times before at the highly successful Opera Galas on Szechenyi square, Győr, in particular. However, this is hardly the only reason the concert promises to be exciting. More significantly, these two great works had both been premiered by Győr-born, world-famous Hungarian conductor János Richter!

All in all, two wonderful, historically especially precious pieces, a superb conductor, and a classy orchestra… it is all put together for you to enjoy a memorable evening soon to come as the second event of the János Richter Season Ticket Series entitled „Richter”.
Make sure you’re there with us for some grand entertainment.
