GYPO concerts in Budapest
We would herewith like to bring two upcoming concerts of the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra to your attention.
Brahms marathon at the Palace of Arts
The Palace of Arts in association with the Budapest Festival Orchestra is to present an all-day-long tribute to one of the best composers in the history of classical music, Johannes Brahms. This January 22, 2017 event will mark the tenth anniversary of this annual venture organised by the institute.
Following the illustrious club of genious masters like Bartok, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Beethoven, or Schubert, who were reminisced upon in previous years here, the theme of the evening will this time be the marvellous German romantic music writer, Johannes Brahms. Our orchestra has been asked by the organisers to contribute to this noble day by performing his second symphony in D major. GYPO will be conducted by Kálmán Berkes at the unusual time of 12:30pm at the Palace of Arts, Budapest. Tickets can be purchased on the "Jegymester" network for HUF 990. (click here to get there directly:http://www.jegymester.hu/hun/Event/2001483/2-szimfonia)
We sincerely hope to see many familiar faces at this event in the capital city.
Barnabás Kelemen and the Győr Phil at the Music Academy
Our orchestra plays concerts every year on the most prestigious stage of Hungarian classical music, the Liszt Academy in Budapest. This year is no different! At 7:30pm on April 18, 2017, we are scheduled to play in the Grand Hall under the baton of artistic director Kálmán Berkes, featuring as soloist Kossuth Prize winning violinist, Barnabás Kelemen. The program includes the first symphony by Franz Schubert, and Tchaikowsky's timeless violin concerto in D major.
We at GYPO would all like to see as many of our orchestra's faithful patrons as possible. Therefore, in case of sufficient interest, we are set to hire a bus to transport you there and back.
Tickests can be purchased at Richter Hall's ticket office during office hours (10-5) Phone#: 80/20 50 15. Those interested in the bus trip to Budapest can also set that up there.
Do be adventurous and come along with us the the Liszt Academy.
