THE GYŐR PHIL IN THE ELBPHIL
GYPO has recenetly had the unique priviledge to be the first Hungarian symphony orchestra to introduce itself on August 7, 2018, in one of the world's newest and most impressive concert halls, the spectacular Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany. Our orchestra had been invited to make an appearance at the Schleswig - Holstein Music Festival and gave a highly successful concert on the already world - famous stage before a full house.
GYPO was conducted by its artistic director, Liszt-prize winning, Meritorious Artist, Kálmán Berkes, and performed pieces by Franz Liszt, Brahms, Clara and Robert Schumann. The evening featured Alexander Krichel, one of today's most excellent, young German pianists.
