"Still presented" - GYPO keeps recording its respective scheduled season ticket concerts in these dark days of pandemic and broadcast them via various channels / stations either live or from recording.

Our first Nikish episode of the new year commemorates the 250th anniversary of the birth of composer giant Ludwig van Beethoven whose overture of his only opera "Fidelio" begins the concert. It is followed by one of the most cherished pieces of the cello repertoire, the Cello Concerto in B minor by Antonin Dvořák, performed by solo cellist of the Viennese Philharmonic Orchestra, Peter Somodari. Concluding the event the orchestra is to play Symphony no. 8 in F major by L. van Beethoven. GYPO is conducted by Thomas Kornél, host of the concert is music historian dr. Balázs Szabó.

Our "Somodari" concert is also broadcast from recording at 5pm on Sunday, February 14, 2021, on radio station Győr Plus (FM 100.1) as well as online on gyorplusz.hu.

A resounding success: The Peter Bence Symphonic Show at the Audi Arena

Piano virtuoso, music producer, composer, Peter Bence, has just turned 32 the other day. Perhaps it was his special way of celebrating that he totally mesmerized his many-thousand-strong Audi Aréna audience in Győr. As he had promised earlier, his impressive technique and creativity indeed dismantled the borders between various musical genres, accompanied skillfully by the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra. There was a steady alternation of earlier and new numbers, one or two of them having been debut performances.

Travel at a lower fare to Budapest to the Mozart / Brahms with GYPO / Berkes concert

Dear Patrons,

We would love to see you at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest on October 20, 2023, when the Győr Philharmonic is to give a guest performance dubbed "Mozart/Brahms - GYFZ/Berkes" as part of our season ticket series. In that sanctuary of classical music our orchestra is conducted by artistic director Kálmán Berkes.
