Legendary rocker Stewart Copeland is to come to Hungary after saying yes to GYPO's invite. On August 24, 2022, at the Olympic Sport Park of Győr, one of the founding member of famed British rock ensemble "Police", Stewart Copeland, is to make an appearance under the baton of Irish female conductor Eímear Noone. The Győr Philharmonic Orchestra is keen to present this kind of fusion concerts when great songs like Roxanne, Can't stand losing you, Message in the bottle, are to be performed with the contribution of classical musicians.
"Police Deranged for Orchestra" is the funky title of the concert series aiming to go down memory lane and revisit some of the enduring staple works of rockstar/composer Stewart Copeland, this time by offering symphony orchestra arrangements. The program represents four long decades of his output including some of the most beloved Police numbers. Our city of Győr is proud to host this spectacular show which, besides Mr. Copeland and GYPO, will feature four singers as well.
