Celebrating chamber music
The title of this concert itself promises a real treat in store for all those interested to come along to Richter Hall at 4pm on December 20.
Three iconic figures of the Hungarian classical music scene are to walk onstage that afternoon as part of the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra’s Károly Flesch concert series. Two-time Kossuth Prize winners, Zoltan Kocsis at the piano, and cellist Miklós Perényi will both be here to do their wonders while GYPO’s Liszt Prize winning artistic director, Kálmán Berkes assumes the double role to be the host and one of the performers of this notable event.
The audience of the concert will hear a number of Zoltán Kocsis’s transcriptions of works by Robert Schumann, Claude Debussy but a piece by Zoltán Kodály is also selected to be played by these three outstanding artists who incidentally are bound together by their decades-long friendship also.
Do make sure you witness this hard-to-match musical experience!
