Children’s Day concert in Richter Hall
The Győr Philharmonic Orchestra herewith cordially invites all children and their parents along with all music lovers of the city at 10:30am on May 25, 2014 to a special morning show in Richter Hall to celebrate the International Children’s Day together.
What makes this morning show real special is that an Italian Youth Orchestra from Milan, Italy, is to put in an debut appearance in Győr. This unique group consists of young professional musicians suffering from vaious slight psychological disorders.
The aim of the ensamble, founded in 1999, is to give an opportunity of artistic nature to assist in promoting the idea of using musical therapy to the benefit of disadvantageous children and in time create a center for that activity. For people like them to play together in such an organized manner is a great challange but some really wonderful benefits lie therein. The orchestra has already had quite a number of chances to perform in public. All the way back in 2003 they already entertained the crowd at the Saint Paul Church in Rome, Italy, as part of the closing ceremony of an event called „The European Year of the Handicapped”. Also, in 2007 they had the honor to play at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.
In the first half of this special Richter Hall concert is included a piece by Elgar, Grieg, Mussorgsky, and Verdi respectively. It proposes to be a genuinely touching experience to listen to the eloquently sensitive way of this orchestra’s music making. Győr Philharmonic will take over in the second half joined by young, talented, budding musicians, namely violinist Alexandra Ruisz, pianist Ádám Baross, and blockflutist Bálint Kovács, as they will play works by Leopold Mozart, W. A. Mozart, Saint-Sains, and Vivaldi. The second half will be conducted by Ferenc Szabó, director of the Győr Symphonic Band.
The host of the event is Zsuzsa G. Scharek. Ticket price is HUF 1000. Those arriving with kids are only to pay HUF 500! Post-concert ice cream is the treat in store for every child!
