GYPO tour to Japan
The Győr Philharmonic Orchestra has the good fortune to be invited by Japan’s biggest music agency called KAJIMOTO to take part in a classical music festival entitled „La Folle Journée Japon” (Crazy days in Japan). GYPO is scheduled to give no less than 13 performances at the festival in the cities Niigata and Tokio ending on May 6.
The main theme of the event is „nature” therefore the pieces to be played have been selected accordingly. Japanese and other international soloists are set to be allied with GYPO in the performances conducted by Liszt and Meritorious Prize winning artistic director Kálmán Berkes as well as Márton Rácz.
It is an exceptional honor and professional recognition for our orchestra to contribute to one of Japan’s largest classical music festivals. We will strive to make our utmost efforts to represent well the values of both our nation and the scene of our daily lives, the great city of Győr.
