Sándor János hangversenybérlet 16_17

Impressive musical offerings await patrons and GYPO fans for the 2016-17 concerts of the new János Sándor season ticket series. The opening presentation is no less than timeless masterpieces by Liszt, Grieg, and Bartók, performed at Richter Hall, Győr, by the National Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by two-time Kossuth Prize winner, Zoltán Kocsis, and featuring as soloist the enormously talented young Hungarian pianist, László Váradi.

For the second event of the series we will welcome to our city two world-renowned artists, the vocally so exceptionally gifted soprano, Erika Miklósa, as well as Mexican tenor Ramon Vargas. Their show at the University Hall is scheduled to feature some of the most well-known and universally beloved opera arias.
The third episode of the series entitled „Bel Canto” is to bring to Győr one of today’s most celebrated singers of the world’s opera houses, Eva Mei, who, along with our orchestra, will be conducted by husband, ex-violin virtuoso, South African-born Gerard Korsten.
The fourth and last concert of the János Sándor series there is a seldom-played, powerful piece of program music included into the program composed by Richard Strauss, entitled „Thus spoke the Zarathustra” (Also sprach Zarathustra), conducted by Liszt Prize winner Zsolt Hamar. An other notable aspect of that evening is the debut performance of a clarinet concerto composed especially for the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra by Győr-born Theodor Burkali. The piece will feature as soloist the winner of a number of international competitions, clarinetist Gábor Varga, who is also the principal teacher of the clarinet department of the Tibor Varga Music Institute.
Season tickets can be purchased at Richter Hall’s ticket office as well as on the Internet site „jegymester.hu”.

We look forward to having you at our concerts.
