Success in the land of the rising sun

The Győr Philharmonic Orchestra's Japanese tour is now at half time after the sixth and final highly successful concert in the seaside city of Niigata. The ensemble is now readying itself for the Tokyo series of performances at the capital 's largest concert venue, the Tokyo International Forum.

The La Folle Journée festival is in existence since 2005 to which GYPO was this time invited to take part in by Japan's biggest music agency KAJIMOTO. Concerts are conducted by artistic director Kálmán Berkes and guest conductor Márton Rácz. Both soloists performing with our orchestra and audience members attending are thus far  dicidedly full of compliments about GYPO that is scheduled to come home from the island country in the late evening hours of May 6.
