Japanese Fairy Tale

The Győr Philharmonic Orchestra has recently had an illustrious guest when Japanese embassador of Hungary, Mr. Otaka Masato, had accepted our invitation. He was the guest of honor at the Richter Hall concert dubbed "Fairy Tale" conducted by Belgian conductor Martijn Dendievel. After the full-house performance the embassador was greeted by all the Japanese members of the orchestra.

ABBA Symphonic in Richter Hall

It is no exaggeration to say that Swedish pop super group ABBA, created in 1972, has become one of the most iconic pop formations of modern times. After winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, the group, consisting of two female, and two male members, began its fairy tale career churning out one hit song after another. The sum total of their song output is well over a hundred and their popularity was verified by over 400 million albums sold during the band's existence.

GYFZ's Ilona Vábel awarded on Day of Hungarian Culture

The Day of Hungarian Culture has been celebrated every year on January 22 since 1989. Author of the Hungarian national anthem, Ferenc Kölcsey, had finished his beautiful poem on that winter day in 1823, exactly 200 years ago. Also, this is the day when the  municipality of the city of Győr recognizes those who do much for the city's cultural life by giving the "For Győr Arts" and the "For Győr Education" awards.

GYPO relations with Audi Hungaria to be continued

Two musical masterpieces had been prepared for the International Day of Music celebratory concert on Thursday, October 29, 2022. In front of a packed Richter Hall GYPO's resident conductor Martin Rajna conducted Mozart's Symphony no. 40 in G minor, the "Great", and the 8th Symphony by Antonin Dvořák. As an "upbeat" to the concert the audience was greeted by the orchestra’s director, Géza Fűke, as well as by Győr-based Audi Hungaria's board director, Alfons Dintner.
