The Győr Philharmonic Orchestra herewith invites all patrons to the Audi Arena at 7pm on April 23, 2016, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, possibly the greatest playwright of all times. What makes this particular evening very special is the guest appearance of world-famous tenor and conductor, José Cura, who is already known to the Győr audience because of his last year’s stunt in the city. RICHTER IN RICHTER HALL

An indeed special show is in store for the general public presented by the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra at Richer Hall at 7pm on 20 November, 2015. The first half of the concert is scheduled to be the second symphony by Johannes Brahms written in the picturesque and ambient setting of Lake Wörthersee, Austria, in the summer of 1877 whereas the second half proposes a performance of England’s premier romantic composer, Edward Elgar’s ever-popular Enigma Variations from 1896.

THE 2015/16 JÁNOS RICHTER CONCERT SERIES IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

Traditionally, the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra’s János Richter Concert Series kicks off every year on October 1, the International Day of Music. This year is no exception. The concert is again conducted by the orchestra’s artistic director, Kálmán Berkes. This time the program contains works by Bach, Brahms, and Bartók, featuring the orchestra’s own artists.
